2020 Palmtag Pinot Noir
Palmtag Pinot Noir is Eden Rift’s first ever single block Pinot Noir. Named after the second owner of the estate, William Palmtag who purchased Eden Rift in 1883 and named it Palmtag Mountain Vineyards. Palmtag is the only Mount Eden Clone we have on property and the small clusters/yields create a precise elegance and fruit profile in the wine. This bottling features 33% whole cluster and was aged in French oak barrels for fifteen months. 267 cases produced

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The wine has a lush mouthfeel with red and blue fruits dusting the nose. Aromas of rose petal, red currant, and clove exude from the glass. These notes stay true on the palate as flavors of bright cherry, mushroom, zippy raspberry and oak carry through.
Vineyard Notes
100% P Block, Mount Eden Clone
The Palmtag Block is a middle ground between Eden Rift’s flat and terraced blocks. The Mount Eden clone is usually the first to finish fruit set and has an abundance of small clusters. We thin the fruit in this West-East facing block in early May, which allows for even veraison. The resultant yields are very small, resulting in a precise, elegant fruit profile.
