“A predominately eastern-facing block, Block S crests about 1,550ft in elevation and is planted to an Alsatian clone of Pinot Gris. It is a terraced block, and given its elevated location on the exposed, northern-side of the estate it is racked daily by strong winds off Monterey Bay. It is incredibly low-yielding terrain; and is likely California’s only terraced planting of Pinot Gris, which makes it even more intriguing to work with.” “This bottling highlights a very specific and finite portion of the Eden Rift estate. The bouquet displays aromas of white peach, honeydew, salted nectarine, lemon zest and minerals. Texturally it has bright acidy, with wonderful verve and energy that speaks to the origin of the fruit.”
